UGANDA - Predator Energy Drink, a leading brand under Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), has introduced a new mango-flavored variant, Predator Mango, to the Ugandan market.
This move is aimed at catering to the growing demand for diverse and refreshing flavors in the energy drink sector, further positioning Predator as a dominant player in Uganda's expanding energy drink industry.
The launch event, held at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, was marked by high expectations as company executives emphasized the potential of the new product to energize and captivate consumers.
Melkamu Abebe, General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), highlighted the company's commitment to providing high-quality products that resonate with local tastes.
“We launched Predator Mango to cater to the growing demand for diverse flavors in the energy drink category. We are confident that this exciting mango flavor will not only energize but also excite our loyal consumers, as we continue to deliver high-quality products at affordable prices,” Abebe said during the event.
Expanding in a growing market
The launch of Predator Mango comes at a time when the Africa Energy Drinks Market is projected to grow significantly.
According to Mordor Intelligence, the market is expected to reach US$5.93 billion by 2030, driven by a compound annual growth rate of 10.06%.
This growth is being fueled by increasing consumer demand for energy drinks across the continent, as younger populations seek convenient and energizing beverages for their active lifestyles.
In Uganda, the energy drink sector has become increasingly competitive, with local and international brands vying for consumer attention.
The introduction of Predator Mango aims to strengthen the brand's presence by offering an alternative that combines the vibrant taste of mango with the boost of energy that consumers expect.
Partnership with Chelsea Football Club
Predator Energy’s launch of its mango-flavored variant coincides with its ongoing partnership with English Premier League giants, Chelsea Football Club.
As the Official Energy Drink and Hydration Partner of the club, Predator Energy benefits from significant global exposure, tapping into Chelsea’s extensive fanbase. This partnership is part of the brand's global strategy to increase visibility and appeal to sports fans worldwide.
Rodney Sacks, Chairman and Co-CEO of Monster Energy Company, spoke about the importance of the collaboration.
“We are proud and excited to be announcing our partnership between Predator Energy and Chelsea Football Club. With the club’s truly global and passionate fanbase, we look forward to unlocking great fan experiences for our consumers across the world,” Sacks noted.

Predator Mango is now available across Uganda, priced at 2,000 UGX (US$0.55). The beverage, designed to invigorate and satisfy consumers, adds to Predator Energy's diverse product portfolio, which continues to meet the changing preferences of Ugandan energy drink enthusiasts.
